These Mid Rise boots are crafted from our limited-edition Organic Dyfi leather, hand-tanned by Jane Robertson in her micro tannery just down the road in Machynlleth.
Jane uses traditional methods and only four natural ingredients: bracken, tree bark (oak, willow, alder and spruce), willow, and water. The result is a leather rich in natural character, with each pair displaying its own unique finish. The barks are harvested by hand and boiled to extract tannins. After the hides rest in the bark tannins for several months, they are finished using a blend of vegetable oils, beeswax, and pine resin/birch tar, all sourced from the Dyfi Valley.
The uppers feature rolled edges and are fully lined with soft, hand-tanned sheepskin from Jane’s tannery—forming to your feet like a second skin in no time.
All our boots are naturally foot-shaped: snug around the arch, with a wide toe box that allows your toes to spread comfortably. Built to last, they’re designed to be repaired and worn for many years.
We use a special flexible leather innersole that allows your feet to move naturally—almost like being barefoot. This is paired with a 3mm-heel tyre-tread outsole. When the soles eventually wear down, simply send the boots back to us for resoling.
