Being presented my certificate by Alec McQuinn,President of the Royal Warrant Holders Association at the QEST luncheon.
Had an amazing time at the QEST award ceremony on Tuesday, Thankyou to all at QEST and the Royal Warrant Holders Association.
Had the most amazing time up on the Isle of Lewis, Outer Hebrides learning about how tweed is produced, I have made an album in my ‘projects page’ if you want to have a look at the album of photos so far, in the meantime I have been busy with making shoes from all the pieces I brought back with me..More to follow soon..
I have just finished making some shoes for the photographer of Country Living magazine, Cristian Barnett, He wanted them in ‘lime green’ and to make sure .. just in case .. he took a photo to prove their worth..
Had a great time at Living crafts Festival alongside my other Qest scholarshipers Graham Ashford - Armourer, Mark Angelo Gizzi - traditional satchel maker, Makiko Tsunoda - Book Conservation, Mandeep Mann -Textile artist, Richard Mossman - Stonemason and Sophie D’Souza, stained glass artist
The first photo are of a pair of shoes I made for Helen 4 years ago, sent back for repair after being worn every day, the second photo are after I have given them new soles, new life and a bit of polish and she sent back the following letter .. ‘Dear Ruth, Thankyou for returning my lovely shoes, as you can see I live in them. I have worked out that they have given me 4 years of foot bliss for 18p per day!
Best Wishes H. Anderson
